Do I need to prepare my photos according to size?
No, you are not required to do so. Any sizes, shapes, age, or condition photos can be scanned. Your scans will be organized digitally according to the original subject groupings.
Do you scan both color and black and white photos?
Yes, both color and black & white photos, even those old Polaroid shots. Photos with borders and dates & writing are captured as well (not cropped off).
Can you scan the back of photos with writing on them?
Yes, you may choose to have the back of photos with information about the photos written on them scanned as well. This not only preserves the information digitally but also retains the posterity of writing.
What resolution do you scan photos?
High resolution is the standard for increased flexibility for cropping and enlargement. Photos 8×10 and smaller are scanned at 600dpi and specific resolution can be accommodated on request.
Do you offer restoration for color, exposure, red eye, etc?
Yes, manual corrections with Adobe Photoshop CS5 are optional for best quality results. The original unedited scans are also preserved for true digital archival.
How will I receive the digital images you create?
Your JPEG digital image files will be stored on a Taiyo Yuden Premium Archival DVD-R. Image folders will be organized and custom titled by subject.
What can I do with the digital images I receive from you?
Once digitally preserved, the door of possibilities opens: Photobooks / Prints / DVD Slideshows / Email Photos / Galleries / Digital Photo Frames / Distribute Copies to Family. Most of all… enjoy the memories!
I have a large collection of photos I want scanned. Where should I start?
Try breaking the collection down into major subjects or time periods. If your collection is not organized, you may find it easier to organize the digital images than physical photos.
Do you offer online viewing of my scans?
Yes, this is a free option with all scanning projects. Images are uploaded to a secure link on our server for viewing in a gallery format. Great for sharing with family members as a central online location of photos.
