DVD
Montage - Getting Started
The first place to start is to consider the scope
of your project. How long you want the DVD video
to be will determine how many photos you should select and how
many songs to play.
Good Rule of Thumb: 10-12 Photos per Minute of
Music |
Preparing your Content
You
can provide digital images that you scan yourself or from
a digital camera, or you can submit any photos,
slides, negatives, or other memorabilia to include in
your project. You can also send a mix of any of them. |
Digital
Images - If
you scan photos on your own, please be sure to scan at 300dpi
minimum for best quality results. If you have a particular
order you want them to be displayed, please number each
image file with the sequence.
(i.e. 001.jpg 002.jpg 003.jpg)
Photos - You
can submit photos of any size. We will scan them and retouch
in Photoshop for the best possible quality and optimum resolution
for the DVD video. If you have a specific sequence order,
please number the back of each photo with a pencil and group
with music in the order you want it presented.
Slides or Negatives - Any
images on slides or negatives will be scanned and retouched
for best quality on the DVD.
Memorabilia - Don't
forget things like newspaper clippings or awards which often
make great content for a montage.
Video Clips - If
you have video on any VHS or camcorder format tape, we can
digitize and edit the clips to blend flawlessly in your
project. This can add a new dimension to your project.
Music - Picking
out songs that work well with your subject is important.
Here are some song ideas
that have worked well in montage projects. You can provide
music you own on CD to use in your project or we can purchase
specific songs online to use in your project for $2 per
song. If you have certain groupings of photos that you would
like displayed during a specific song, please provide the
sequence numbers and songs to match.
Titles / Text Captions / Messages - Any
text captions or messages are included in the project image
pricing. You can submit any ideas you have for what you
would like as an introductory or ending message, as well
as any captions over any pictures. You can either supply
ideas at the time you submit your materials, or wait until
the editorial preview stage to suggest ideas. Sometimes
that is easier so you don't feel overwhelmed at the beginning
of the project. |
Submit Your Project Materials |

Editorial Preview |
Once
all materials are received and your project is compiled,
we will email you a link to view your entire project, including
the main menu. Each image will be numbered for you to identify
any images that you may want to change the order, delete,
add new images, etc. You can also suggest captions or any
other additions to make your project just the way you want
it.
When you approve of the final product, we will complete
the rendering to DVD and finalize your project. |
